Sumo Kings top the bill at The Box in Crewe

CREWE’S indie rock saviours Sumo Kings play a rare hometown headline gig in The Box tomorrow.

With a string of high-profile support slots under their belts – Feeder, Haunts, Doll And The Kicks, etc – the boys bring it all back home as they head up a four-band line-up of new music.

Sumo Kings are Chris Farrington (vocals/guitar), Jamie Oliver (drums/backing vocals), Adam Davies (bass), Steve Foster (lead guitar/backing vocals).

The band have cranked things up a gear over the past year, putting in some blistering live performances at The Box that have won them the loyalty of an expanding fan base.

Main support comes from the self-styled Mancunian ambassadors of psychedelic trip-blues Electric Kools.

Further support comes from young Winsford four-piece Saskia May, whose influences include Paramore, Prodigy, Pendulum. Radiohead, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Muse and Bloc Party.

Openers are Jaguar Jones whose influences include Foals, Rage and MGMT.

Entry is £5. Doors are open from 8pm. For tickets, visit www.theboxcrewe.co.uk.
