Regent Theatre announces its autumn season

The magical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang comes flying into the Regent Theatre to head up an impressive autumn programme at the Hanley venue in its 10th anniversary.

The musical arrives for a three-week residency in November complete with 100-strong cast and crew, sensational sets and stunning special effects.

Stars of stage and screen will be dropping in to The Potteries over the next few months including Brian Capron – Coronation Street’s Richard Hillman – and former EastEnder Jessie Wallace in the UK touring production of Stepping Out.

There will be laughs in abundance too with a visit from rising star Michael McIntyre, while Victoria Wood’s hit BBC TV sitcom Dinnerladies comes to the stage for the first time.

Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show will be back doing The Time Warp, while there will also be welcome returns for operatic Glyndebourne on Tour, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Irish dance sensation Magic of the Dance and West End smash hit Dreamcoats and Petticoats, the ultimate rock ’n’ roll party.

And to round the season off in time-honoured tradition, Potteries golden boy Jonathan Wilkes is back for his fifth successive year alongside Regent favourite Christian Patterson in panto Dick Whittington.
