Finley Quaye to play gig at Liverpool’s Live Lounge

NINETIES multi-influenced pop star, Finley Quaye is still a busy man with a loyal fan base.

He has more than one album release to come this year and a UK tour, but still manages a one-off gig at Liverpool’s Live Lounge on Sunday.

Maverick Quaye fits the bill perfectly with a multi-faceted, multi-ethnic catalogue of music.Š

He scored a solo record deal with Polydor Records in 1994 and began working with Epic/Sony in 1996. In 1997 he reached the UK Top 20 twice with Sunday Shining, and Even After All.ŠŠ Sunday Shining was classic Finley with its bizarre cross section of influences of Tenor Saw, the Breeders and the Zombies mashed together.

His debut album Maverick A Strike captured the sunshine vibe of prime time Marley.

He is readying albums Pound for Pound and The Best Of The Epic Years on Sony/BMG – both out this year.

Tickets for Sunday’s Live Lounge gig at the Albert Dock venue cost £12 in advance and £14 on the door. Ring 0844 8000 410 or visit www.accliverpool.com/livelounge
