Circus rolls into town

A big top circus has been wowing fans at the Roodee this week.

The Netherlands National Circus, which finishes its four-day run near the Racecourse today, has been performing in front of packed crowds under its purpose-built arena.

Featuring a flying trapeze from Brazil, the Flying Bull Dancers from Estonia, Pavel the handsome and muscular young man on the aerial skills from Russia, and twice the skill and twice the glamour – Bugrovi Sisters – on the deceptively dangerous Rola-rola.

Holland’s best juggler Gordon Marquez from Mongolia and the Gymnastics Fantastics troupe throw one another around and take skipping a hop, skip and a jump higher.

And there’s also the mystifying illusions of Ross Presto, elegant and original aerialiste Alina and the hilarious Felipe.
