Andrew Curphey, of Widnes, releases Always in My Heart, a charity single to raise cash for Halton Haven and other hospices

A SINGER from Widnes is to release a debut single to raise cash for a hospice collective.

Andrew Curphey, 23, will donate his profits from sales of Always In My Heart, to Thank Heaven – a group of six hospices that includes Runcorn’s Halton Haven.

In preparation, the singer and dramatist has performed the song at venues as diverse as supermarkets, pubs and city centres.

Andrew wrote Always In My Heart with musician and friend Julia Grey and recorded it at Orchard Studios, Crewe.

The singer will also perform the song at the Grand Talent Trail to raise even more cash for Halton Haven.

He said: “We’ve done loads of work to promote it in Runcorn, Widnes, Warrington, Liverpool and Chester.

“The song came about when we were just having a jam. I had an idea for a chorus and sang into the phone so I wouldn’t forget it. It just went from there and eventually we recorded it.

“It’ll go on sale at venues where we are performing, in hospice shops, and online.

“I got involved through Sue Nield who used to fundraise for Halton Haven Hospice but now fundraises for six hospices through Thank Heaven.”

He added: “Always In My Heart is a love song but people can have their own interpretation.”
