ELVIS aims to be back in the building at the Victoria Hall in Hanley on Saturday as Lee ‘Memphis’ King delivers his Elvis On Tour show.
It pays tribute to the early days of pure hip-swivelling rock ‘n’ roll. King is one of the UK’s most successful Elvis impersonators, finalist in The World’s Greatest Elvis and in the special edition of The Weakest Link on BBC1.
He said: “I am a huge fan of Elvis and my tribute is done with the utmost respect for him.”

A Comedy Of Errors (Opera House, Buxton, July 3-5)
LEADING Shakespeare production company Shakespeare’s Globe returns to Buxton for a third year to present A Comedy Of Errors in the picturesque setting of the Pavilion Gardens.
One pair of estranged twins and a pair of twin servants, kept in ignorance of each other, are thrown into a city with a reputation for sorcery, with the result being chaos.
In one of his most popular works, Shakespeare explores familiar themes of his such as mistaken identity, coincidence and the importance of family.
Audiences are invited to bring their own low-backed seats and rugs. In case of bad weather, the show will be moved indoors.

Narnia - The Musical (Gatehouse Theatre, Stafford, July 8-11)
MUSICAL Youth Theatre Stafford return hoping for a repeat success following their first full-scale production last year, The Wizard Of Oz.
Narnia – The Musical is a brand new adaptation of C S Lewis’ classic novel The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, following Edmund and co’s journey into the enchanted world filled with creatures and spirits of myth and fable, both good and evil, ruled by the majestic King Aslan, the Great Lion of Narnia.

Scooby-Doo & The Pirate Ghost (Opera House, Manchester, July 8-11)
ZOIKS! Scooby and the gang are back at the Regent Theatre in Hanley next week in a cartoon classic taken straight from TV, Scooby-Doo & The Pirate Ghost.
Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred encounter a new case to solve in their trademark style as the adventure unfolds with perplexing clues, pirate ghosts and an abundance of Scooby snacks.
A theatre spokesman says: “This is a hair-raising, spine-tingling and extra-special experience for parents who grew up watching the iconic TV show and for children who have just discovered Scooby-Doo for the first time.”
