The Flags stands out at Liverpool’s Royal Court Theatre

LIVERPOOL’S Royal Court Theatre is leading the way with Bridget O’Connor’s play, The Flags, which runs until Saturday, June 27.

The madcap hit show has been described by its star Kieran Cunningham as a ‘mixture of Father Ted and Baywatch’.

The comedy is set on a dirty beach in Ireland, where two lifeguards sit and chat and do very little guarding of life.

A show spokesman said: “That’s partly because nobody ever visits the beach, but also because they are not particularly adept.”

Show times vary.

For tickets, priced £10 to £20, and more information phone the box office on 0870 787 1866.
