Geno Washington comes to The Brindley in Runcorn

GENO Washington still enjoys enormous status on the soul, R&B and Northern Soul scenes, due to his unsurpassable reputation as a live performer.

Now he is coming to The Brindley in Runcorn as part of a national tour with Jimmy James and Pauline Black to coincide with an anti-gun and anti-knife crime song called I’m Doin’ 99 Years.

Without ever having had a number one single, Geno had two of the biggest selling UK albums of the sixties.

In 1980 Geno was a Number 1 hit in the UK for Dexy’s Midnight Runners, paying tribute to the great man.

His set list includes Soul Man, The Midnight Hour, I Got My Mojo Working, Theme from Shaft, Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Knock On Wood, I Put a Spell on You , Lucille, Sweet Soul Music , I Can’t Get No Satisfaction, Little Red Rooster, Send Me Some Lovin’, Everybody Needs Somebody and Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag.

Geno Washington comes to the award-winning Runcorn venue on Saturday, June 20 at 8pm with tickets at £17 and £15 concessions from The Brindley box office on 0151 907 8360 or online at www.thebrindley.org.uk.
