Jennifer Pike & Martin Roscoe present Morning Serenades at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester

VIOLINIST Jennifer Pike and pianist Martin Roscoe perform Morning Serenades at the Bridgewater Hall on Sunday June 14 and 21 at 11am.

The two concerts offer highly virtuosic programmes with a focus on Beethoven, together with new works specially written for Jennifer.

These two Sunday morning recitals will round off the Bridgewater Hall’s prestigious International Series.

Former Chetham’s student Jennifer Pike, 19, shot to fame when she became the youngest-ever winner of the BBC’s Young Musician of the Year competition in 2002.

She’s now one of BBC Radio 3's New Generation Artists. The Bridgewater Hall concert will be recorded for later broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

She will be accompanied by Martin Roscoe, a former teacher at the Royal Northern College of Music, now on the staff at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

The two programmes both open and close with works by Beethoven – Piano Sonatas Nos. 23 and 8 open each recital, with Jennifer closing each concert with Beethoven Violin Sonata no. 8, then no 5.

Tickets for the morning serenades are £12 each. Call 0161 907 9000 or visit www.bridgewater-hall.co.uk.
