Jumping Ships headline The Box in Crewe

HIGHLY rated Brighton four-piece Jumping Ships headline at The Box, Pedley Street, Crewe, on Friday.

The band have had a great first year which saw them play with Bombay Bicycle Club, This City and Elle Milano.

They released their debut single, Liberty Row, in October before embarking on a national tour.

Jumping Ships comprise Michael Williams on acoustic guitar and vocals, Kai Smith on lead guitar, Tristan Hall on bass and backing vocals and Andy Potts on drums.

They came together as a trio in early 2007, lead guitarist Smith coming on board later in the year.

Excellent receptions at venues such as Brighton Barfly, Dublin Castle Camden and Concorde2 led to the band being invited to support the likes of Hush the Many (Heed the Few), and The XCerts, cementing their place as one of Brighton’s hottest unsigned acts.

Main support comes from Cheshire- based indie four-piece River Run Riot – formerly known as The Guide.

Further support comes from Mancunian ambassadors of psychedelic trip-blues Electric Kools.

Doors open at 8pm and admission is £5. For more details, visit www. theboxcrewe.co.uk.
