Northwich singer to host evening’s entertainment at Witton church

A CANDLELIT evening at a Northwich church will showcase the songwriting and singing talents of two local performers next weekend.

I Love Music takes place at St Helen’s Church, Witton, on Saturday, May 9, organised by singing teacher Sally Garozzo, who will be performing.

Sally said: “It’s a celebration of good songwriters and their songs, performed acoustically, set in the confines of the high ceilings and huge stained glass windows that these perfect surroundings offer.

“Being a singer myself, I wanted an appropriate setting to showcase my songs, not just for a quick 20 minutes in a bar somewhere. I wanted to give my songs the time and space they deserve to be appreciated, and the church is the perfect setting.

“This event is for anyone who wants to escape reality for a couple of hours and be immersed in the sacred beauty of architecture and sound.”

Winsford-based artist Boy on a Bicycle – aka Ian Scanlan – will be the evening’s second act and has more than 25 years experience of performing live.

Doors open at 7pm on Saturday, May 9, and the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 on the door, and for every one sold, £1 will go to church funds.
