Former UB40 lead Ali Campbell brings his solo tour to Liverpool Empire

FORMER UB40 lead singer Ali Campbell will be performing live at the Liverpool Empire this summer to celebrate the release of his new solo album Flying High on June 22.

Having just returned from a successful tour of Australia and New Zealand with his new band – the Dep Band, Ali is looking forward to performing for his British fans.

He said: “I feel a new lease of life. I perform a mixture of some songs from the solo albums as well as the classics, like Red Red Wine, that I am known for.

“Performing with the new band is like a breath of fresh air and I am enjoying every minute of it.”

He is also excited about the forthcoming album and said: “I am looking forward to releasing the new album and then touring round the world for the rest of 2009.”

Following the success of 2007’s Running Free album, Ali’s follow up will be a mixture of original material and interesting covers with a world theme running throughout. Ali Campbell will be live at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool on Sunday, June 28.
