Rambert Dance Company bring Eternal Light tour to Llandudno

A MAJOR new work will be unveiled by Rambert Dance Company when they visit Venue Cymru in Llandudno on February 13 and 14.

Featuring music commissioned by London Musici, Mark Baldwin collaborates with composer Howard Goodall, designer Michael Howells and milliner Stephen Jones to create his second new work for Rambert as part of their Eternal Light Tour 2009.

Baldwin received a TMA Theatre Award for his Achievement in Dance, and an Olivier Award nomination for the creation of Constant Speed in 2005.

Since joining Rambert as its artistic director in 2002, Mark Baldwin’s creative vision through music, dance and design has never been more prevalent than with the creation of Eternal Light.

Merging several different artforms, Baldwin collaborates with some of the finest, award-winning talent that Britain has to offer.

Eternal Light is one of Rambert Dance Company’s most ambitious collaborations in recent years, a powerfully beautiful and life-affirming celebration set to an elegiac and evocative score. It will be performed in Llandudno, where it will be sung live by the choir of Amici del Canto, accompanied by Rambert’s associate orchestra, London Musici.

Tickets for Rambert’s visit to Llandudnio can be obtained by ringing 01492 872000 or visiting www.venuecymru.co.uk.

The company will also be performing at Clwyd Theatr Cymru in Mold from March 18-21. Ring 0845 330 3565 or visit www.clwyd-theatr-cymru.co.uk.
