EXPECT many tributes to rock ‘n’ roll legend Buddy Holly during 2009 - the 50th anniversary of “the day the music died”.
It was in 1959 that Buddy Holly died in a plane crash that also claimed the lives of Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper during The Winter Dance Party Tour.
That tour has now been recreated and can be seen at the Pavilion Theatre in Rhyl on Saturday, February 7 at 7.30pm.
From the early songs such as Holly’s Blue Days Black Nights and Rock Around with Ollie Vee to True Love Ways and It Doesn’t Matter Anymore, The Big Bopper’s Chantilly Lace, Running Bear, White Lightning and Valens’ La Bamba and Come on Let’s Go will be performed by real musicians dressed in authentic 50s attire on real instruments.
Tickets are £14.50, concessions £1.50 off. Call the box office on 01745 33 00 00 or book online at www.rhylpavilion.co.uk.
