Four bands line up for Metal Box night at Crewe

METAL Box returns to the Crewe venue on Saturday, February 7 with another four-band line-up.

Headlining proceedings are Last Words, with willing and able support from Broken, The Blessed and The Day Before Mortality.

Five-piece Last Words came together in early 2006, with the idea of creating music that's not afraid to stray from the beaten path.

Combining staple hardcore influences with sounds as diverse as Sigur Ros, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Fightstar gives the band a familiar yet challenging sound.

Step Outside Yourself, the band's first EP, was recorded in autumn 2007 at Bloodstained Vault Studios, produced by Peet Ryder (Heresy of Thieves) and Mike Pilat (The Ocean).

Broken was founded by bassist Mark Meadows, rhythm guitarist Gary Edwards and lead guitarist Matt Dasan in September 2007.

They then found the ideal drummer in Zac Baker and as they began writing their own material, Danny Vickers joined the group to provide the perfect frontman.

The Blessed list their influences as including Your Demise, Emmure, Dead Swans, Throwdown and Comeback Kid.

The Day Before Mortality have been earning some top reviews across the UK for their post-hardcore sounds, breathtaking dual vocal work and unpredictable stage shows.

Doors from 8pm. Entry is £4. For more information visit www.theboxcrewe.co.uk.
