New season revealed at The Brindley in Runcorn

PUNK legends, great dance shows and some of the trendiest TV comics are highlights of a fun packed spring programme at the award-winning Brindley in Runcorn.

There will also be peformances by Fairport Convention and impressionist Phil Cool, doing something completely different, a member of Squeeze re-igniting past hits and showcasing new material and the UK's No 1 soul band The Real Thing.

Ha Ha Hamlet on Saturday, February 21 sees Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy re-written as the riproaring comedy it should have been.

Two giants of the UK punk scene, Hugh Cornwell and John Cooper Clarke, have announced gigs at the venue.

Hugh Cornwell, the frontman of the legendary band The Stranglers for 17 years comes to The Brindley on Friday, February 12.

The “Bard of Salford” and punk poet John Cooper Clarke comes to town on Friday, March 13.

Folk legends Fairport Convention, the originators of British folk-rock, have announced a gig in Halton, supported by TV comedian Phil Cool - who will be showing his other side - as an accomplished singer/songwriter.

Fairport Convention has attracted huge critical acclaim and delighted audiences for over four decades, not least on its annual winter tours and at their world-famous music festival at Cropredy. They will come to The Brindley on Tuesday, February 10.

As if this pop pedigree was not enough - former Squeeze songwriter Glenn Tillbrook comes to the venue on Saturday, May 16.

TV comic Ed Byrne brings his Different Class tour to Runcorn on Thursday, March 5. The Irish comic and star of BBC2's

Mock the Week returns with his critically acclaimed one man show about marriage, class, the youth of today and anything else that strikes him as humorous.

Mark Watson brings his All The Thoughts I’ve Had Since I Was Born to town on Thursday, March 12.

In 2008, Mark won Best Show at the Adelaide and Sydney Comedy Festivals, completed a 100-date tour of the UK,

Australia and New Zealand, recorded the second series of his cult Radio 4 show, published his third book and

continued his regular appearances on the likes of BBC2's Mock The Week.

Lovers of dance are well catered for with shows like The Blank Album, which fuses rock, pop imagery and choreography and Portfolio Collection which is the only professional dance company with a dance who uses as wheelchair.
