AN EXPLOSIVE triple dose of ska, punk and indie delivers the kicks at The Box in Crewe on Friday, January 16.
The night features a hometown gig for Friend Called Friend, while The Guide make a return visit to the venue and The Scoundrels make their debut in the town.
Indie outfit Friend Called Fred include front man Alex Holsgrove, Eddy Collier on rhythm guitar, Jim Richards on bass and Kirk Taylor on drums.
The band play an original cocktail of ska, indie and punk, with anthems including A Riot Of Our Own and The Takeover.
Their influences include Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro and Nine Black Alps.
The Guide are a young Cheshire-based three-piece featuring Will Garner on lead vocals and guitar, Sam Burgess on guitar and backing vocals and Tom Andrews on bass.
Will said: “Our songs have mostly about our the ups and downs in life and how life can treat you.
“But we have recently began writing a lot of new material with a much different sound to it which is going to be a lot more effective so keep your ears open and listen out.“
Winsford four-piece The Scoundrels are Paul Brown on bass, Andy Brown on lead, Andy Webster on drums and lead singer Tim Mowat.
Their list of influences range from The Clash to Marley.
