Passage to India for Laura

Budding chart star Laura Critchley is celebrating her recent trip to India.

The 23-year-old from Little Sutton flew out for a promotional tour after signing a record deal with a major label called The Times India.

And she bravely defied the terrorists who attacked Westerners in Mumbai last month to honour her dates in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune.

On her triumphant return, Laura said: “It was amazing, better than any of us could have expected.

“The Indian label people were so impressed that they are right now translating my song Sometimes I into Hindi.

“I'll be going back over there to record it as a duet with a male Indian artist in the near future.”

She added: “The gigs were so well received.

“The people there loved the music and it was so nice to see my Indian slightly-repackaged album on the shelves there.

“I kept a video diary of the trip so I'm going to put something up on YouTube soon.”

The Times India, which paid for her trip, also has The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus and Hilary Duff on its books over there.

Laura's pop videos have been playing on VH1 India 60 times a day and her songs are also on heavy rotation on the national radio.

And speaking of the terror attacks on Mumbai, she said: “It was touch and go about whether I should be going.

“But then I decided I should because I was living in London during the bombings here and I think it’s really important to carry on as normal and show support for Mumbai.”
