Aussie soap star revealed for 2008 Cheshire panto

A VETERAN performer of the popular Australian soap opera Home and Away is the star of the 2008 panto at Crewe’s Lyceum Theatre.

Lynne McGranger has played Irene in Home and Away for 15 years and is appearing as the Fairy in the Lyceum’s production of Jack and the Beanstalk from December 3-January 3.

“I’m really looking forward to appearing in Crewe. Pantomime is always a highlight of my calendar and I’ve heard some good reports of the Cheshire audiences,” said Ms McGranger.

The 2007 production of Beauty and the Beast was the venue’s most successful pantomime to date and the production team are confident that Jack and the Beanstalk will prove to be an even bigger hit.

Steve Boden, from WISH Theatre, producing the show once more, said: “We are thrilled to have Lynne McGranger on board for this year’s show in Crewe.

“Lynne is a natural entertainer and has been performing in pantomimes around the UK for many years. We are sure that she will add an element of Australian class to the production.”

Joining her in Crewe for the show are household favourite Frazer Hines (Doctor Who and Emmerdale), Carolynne Good (Fame Academy), Kevin McGreevy and kids TV star Kerry Newell.

Tickets are available from the theatre directly – 01270 537 333 or through the website – www.lyceumtheatre.net
