ACCLAIMED Liverpool poet, Roger McGough, is back at the city’s Playhouse Theatre this weekend to unveil some of his latest works.
McGough scored a triumph at the Playhouse earlier this year with his adaptation of Tartuffe but is returning to present his new collection of slapstick poetry for children on Saturdayat 2pm.
There will be gorillas and fruitbats, talking seals and jazz-loving jellyfish, Lily the Pink back from weightlifting, grandads and uncaring cats, texting and riddling, tiny poems for toddling tiddlers, the mysterious death of a lighthouse keeper and an impossible Whale in the Thames.
