Award-winning Stomp comes to the Regent Theatre

STOMP, the award winning sensation, continues to wow audiences with its unique combination of theatre, dance, comedy and percussion.

It has played to more than nine million people in 42 countries worldwide and consistently achieves sell-out shows.

There are currently four companies performing worldwide, one on tour in North America, another throughout Europe and the rest of the world, one in New York (now in its 15th year) and one in London (now entering its sixth year) and there are on occasion up to six companies performing concurrently in the world.

Each company has its own style, its own feel: this is because even though the show is very tightly choreographed and orchestrated, there is a lot of room for every performer's own personality to shine through. The show is as much an expression of eight individuals with very strong personalities as it is a vision of rhythm.

Stomp finds beauty and music in the mundane - from boots and bins to zippo lighters and plumbers plungers - everything including the kitchen sink becomes part of this amazing production as a cast of eight inspired performers make instruments out of brooms and turn hand-clapping into conversation.

With unstoppable energy and toe-tapping exuberance, Stomp takes the clutter and junk of everyday life and transforms it into a pulsating, witty, utterly irresistible theatrical event.

Stomp has no words - everyone can understand it. It has little or no melody in the traditional sense, so it doesn't matter if your taste in music is jazz, classical, dance or pop.

The show can be seen at the Regent Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent from December 2-6. Ring the box office on 0870 060 6649 for details.
