Glyndebourne triple bill

TO MARK its 40th year, Glyndebourne presents three productions for its 2008 touring programme.

Led by music director Robin Ticciati, Glyndebourne On Tour’s 2008 repertoire incorporates both new and familiar productions.

Mozart’s The Magic Flute will be conducted by Douglas Boyd. Making his Glyndebourne debut with the tour, he is already known to UK audiences through his performances with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Manchester Camerata.

Bizet’s Carmen will be brought to the stage following its run at this year’s Glyndebourne Festival. Jakub Hruša, who is conducting some of the Carmen performances during the festival and has recently taken over as music director of the Prague Philharmonia, will conduct.

Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel completes the programme; a new production to be shown for the first time at Glyndebourne during this year’s festival.

Glyndebourne on Tour comes to the Regent Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent from November 11-15. Visit www.regenttheatre.co.uk or ring 0870 060 6649.
