MARTHA Wainwright, one of the world's most vibrant singer-songwriters, will be performing live at the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool on Thursday, October 30 at 7.30pm.
For those who only know her through her duet with Gary Lightbody on Snow Patrol's Set The Fire To The Third Bar this gig provides an electrifying introduction to her playful, touching and raw music.
In her short career so far she has made music with The Who's Pete Townshend, Damon Albarn's Africa Express, brother Rufus, mother Kate McGarrigle, father Loudon Wainwright III and Emmylou Harris.
She has covered Leonard Cohen's songs for the film I'm Your Fan, performed Bertold Brecht and Kurt Weill's Seven Deadly Sins with the Royal Ballet Company, and sang Pink Floyd's See Emily Play with her mother at a Syd Barrett tribute.
Tickets, priced £23.50-£16.50, are available from 0151 709 3789 or order online at www.liverpoolphil.com.
