Nantwich Food & Drink Festival’s tasty line-up

VISITORS to this month’s spectacular Nantwich Food & Drink Festival are being offered an appetising starter with a host of fringe events.

The eighth annual event, which will run from Friday, September 26, to Sunday, September 28 and is being held in association with the Chronicle, features 100 producers of speciality food and drink and hosts tutored tastings.

Paranormal pub tours are being ofered on the Friday and Saturday of the Festival at 5.30pm and 7.15pm; and on the Festival Sunday at 3.45pm, 5.30pm and 7.15pm.

For a calmer experience, an Italian gourmet dinner can be savoured at Crewe Hall on the Friday in conjunction with Edencroft Fine Wines.

Tudor Tastes, also on Friday from 10.30am until 3pm, is a drop-in free event at Nantwich Library which doesn’t require a ticket – only for visitors to turn up.

A lunch with Kate Colquhoun is at Alvaston Hall at 1.30pm on Sunday. Priced at just £19.95, diners will feast upon a four course Sunday lunch made with produce from around the North West while Kate offers interesting facts about where the food came from.

Finally there’s an evening with whisky connoisseur Jim Murray at Crewe Hall on Friday, October 10.

Celebrity TV chef Gino D’Acampo will take to the stage in the Demonstration Theatre at 12pm and 3pm on the Saturday while Le Chocolatier Michael Levy will fill in the 1pm slot.

Andrew Hollinshead from Crewe Hall will show off his exquisite culinary skills on the Friday and Saturday while Mr Ali from Bengal Dynasty will give a local take on Indian curry on both days.
