Curtain up on stars at Lyceum

Theatregoers are guaranteed to be thrilled when the curtain rises on a fabulous autumn season of entertainment at the Crewe Lyceum.

The programme boasts an array of foot-stomping, hand-clapping one-nighters including the fabulous Buddy Holly and the Cricketers, the ever popular That’ll Be the Day, and The Searchers.

Kicking off the season with style is ZU2, a tribute to U2, before it’s time to party all the way with the Rat Pack Vegas Spectacular. The stunning musical extravaganza Beyond the Barricade will also be back to entertain, and get your vocal chords warmed up for Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music.

Drama lovers are in for a real treat this season with three plays, starting with Ray Cooney’s comedy Run For Your Wife starring Melvyn Hayes, Mark Wingett, Paul Henry, Barry Howard and full supporting cast.

Don’t Look Now by Daphne Du Maurier is a classic Venetian thriller starring James Gaddas, Rula Lenska and Nicola Bryant. The last play in the season is the thriller Murder with Love, with an all-star cast to be announced.

For comedy fans there is the welcome return of Ken Dodd and the king of controversial comedy, Roy Chubby Brown.

Football fans will not want to miss a night with one of England’s best goal scorers in An evening with Jimmy Greaves (adults only). The Reduced Shakespeare Company will be taking you on an irreverent roller coaster ride from fig leaves to the Final Judgement in The Bible, the Complete Word of God.

Manchester Camerata returns with two classical concerts and a family music day featuring Debussy, Mozart and Haydn.

Ballet lovers are spoilt for choice and will be enchanted by Swan Lake presented by Vienna Festival Ballet and Coppelia presented by the Moscow Ballet.

For children, Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs, based on the bestselling book and top rated television show, will be coming to the Lyceum.
