Last night of the proms for festival finale

GRAB your party poppers and union flag for a last night of the proms concert this weekend.

The Cambrian Philharmonic Orchestra perform at Gwynedd School, Flint, on Saturday as part of the Flint Festival.

The orchestra, made up of amateur players from Chester, Wrexham and Flintshire, meets several times a year for a weekend of rehearsals, culminating in a concert.

Russell Gray will conduct a programme including Nutcracker Suite No.1 by Tchaikovsky, Adagio from Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto with soloist Heather Thomas, Nimrod from Enigma Variations by Elgar, Fantasia on British Sea Songs by Henry Wood, Pomp and Circumstance March No.1 by Elgar with soprano Helen Crich.
