Head back to the 1960s on Beatles Day

A HUGE number of Sixties acts from the halcyon days of the Merseybeat scene are set to pay homage to The Beatles.

A day of events will culminate in a live concert entitled Beatles Day – Imagine The Concert on Thursday as part of this year’s Liverpool Summer Pops Festival.

Hosted by Scouse comic Ricky Tomlinson, acts to sign up for the tribute to the Fab Four include Gerry Marsden, The Quarrymen (Lennon and McCartney’s original band), the Swinging Blue Jeans, Merseybeats, Mike Pender from The Searchers, The Original Fourmost, The Black Knights, Karl Terry and the Cruisers, The Undertakers, and Kingsize Taylor and The Dominoes.

Also among the line-up will be tribute act The Backbeat Beatles featuring Chris O’Neill – who starred in the cult Beatles film Backbeat.

All the acts will be performing Beatles favourites as chosen by the public.

Concert tickets are priced at £19.50 and £24.50, with a limited number of gold circle tickets available.

To book, call 0844 8000 400 or visit www.accliverpool.com.
