Anita’s slice of Big Apple

FORMER EastEnders star Anita Dobson teams up with Darren Day for a production of the award-winning musical Hello, Dolly! at the Liverpool Empire next week.

The show takes us on a whirlwind race around New York at the turn of the 20th century, as we follow the adventures of America’s most beloved matchmaker, Dolly Levi.

Anita Dobson is the irresistible Dolly Levi, Darren Day is loveable Cornelius Hackl, David McAlister as the “unmarried half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder and Louise English as sophisticated hat shop owner Mrs Irene Molloy.

Hello, Dolly! is full of memorable songs including Put On Your Sunday Clothes, Ribbons Down My Back, Before the Parade Passes By, Hello, Dolly!, It Only Takes a Moment and So Long, Dearie.

The show will be at the Liverpool Empire from June 30–July 5. Evening performances at 7.30pm, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets £10-£32.50 and from 0844 847 2525 or www.LiverpoolEmpire.org.uk.
