Classic Cole Porter musical comes to Llandudno

LLANDUDNO Musical Productions and the Operatic Players of Colwyn Bay are teaming up for their 2008 production of Cole Porter’s Anything Goes at Venue Cymru in Llandudno from June 10-14.

The revival of the 1934 Broadway musical was performed recently in London’s West End starring John Barrowman, and among the songs featured are De-Lovely, I Get a Kick out of You, You’re the Top, and Friendship.

Llandudno Musical Productions (LMP) is a registered charity formed in 2003 by the amalgamation of the Llandudno Operatic Society and the Llandudno Musical Players.

Last year saw LMP staging a successful production of Calamity Jane in Venue Cymru, with summer and Christmas shows performed in Llandudno’s Town Hall, keeping the cast and committee on their toes all year round.

The Operatic Players, Colwyn Bay have had many productions on the Theatr Colwyn stage. Recent successful performances have included Bob Fosse’s iconic Sweet Charity.

Both societies have a long history of regular productions only being postponed during the war years. This exciting joint venture of two well established amateur dramatic societies follows a lack of rehearsal space for the Operatic Players.

Tickets for Anything Goes are available at Venue Cymru’s box office on 01492 872000 or visit www.venuecymru.co.uk.
