Grace Notes play Tilston Music Club on Tuesday

TILSTON Music Club welcomes back the highly acclaimed Grace Notes to the Carden Arms on Tuesday, May 27.

Among the folk scene’s best loved female harmony groups, the line-up comprises Helen Hockenhull, vocals and keyboard, Lynda Hardcastle, vocals and recorder, together with the internationally famous Maggie Boyle on vocals, flute and bodhran.

Originally from Co Donegal, Maggie has an impressive musical pedigree, performing with the Boyle Family in the 70s and later a member of John Renbourn’s band Ship of Fools. She has also toured extensively with Ballet Rambert and with Irish superstars The Chieftains.

Her vocals have adorned the soundtracks of the films Legends of the Fall starring Brad Pitt and Patriot Games starring Harrison Ford.

Helen was the founder of Muckram Wakes and later performed with the New Victory band and recorded Song Bird with Suzie Adams.

Lynda sang with Mountain Ash Band in making the concept album The Hermit and has performed with Alan Rose and Jim Ellison in Mountain Ash Mark II.

The performance starts at 8.30pm. Admission is £7 either on the door or from 01829 250502.

Following this performance, the club’s weekly session will change from Tuesday to Wednesday (starting from Wednesday, June 4) night at the Carden Arms, Tilston, at 8.30pm.
