Darcey & Katherine team up at MEN Arena

PRIMA ballerina Darcey Bussell and international opera superstar Katherine Jenkins can command audiences of thousands on their own.

But the Viva La Diva tour brings them together for a night to remember at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Wednesday, May 14.

Directed by Take That choreographer Kim Gavin, the show sees two of Britain’s best loved and admired stars present a sensational fusion of song and dance, paying homage to the heroes and heroines that have inspired them.

Darcey Bussell said: “Ballet has been my focus for 28 years. Now I am stepping into a variety of different styles of dance that I have always had a passion to perform.

“Katherine’s voice has an exceptional quality and I’m very much looking forward to combining our very different talents.”

Darcey Bussell was educated at The Royal Ballet School, where the late Kenneth MacMillan spotted her exceptional technique.

He then championed her early career leading to her become a principal ballerina at the Royal Ballet by the age of 20. She has danced in major ballets all round the world.

Katherine Jenkins was first discovered at the age of 12 when she became the BBC Welsh Choirgirl of the Year.

She has since gone from strength to strength, performing at major international venues including the Sydney Opera House, producing four acclaimed albums, all of which entered the classical charts at number one.
