Miller Anderson to play Alexander’s in Chester

Miller Anderson, who has played with the likes of T Rex, Deep Purple and Donovanwill be performing live at Alexander’s in Chester on April 24.

After playing in a number of bands in the early 60s, Miller joined the Keef Hartley Band (1968-1971) to record the Halfbreed album.Š

This line-up played in Woodstock Festival, on its second day, although unfortunately they don't appear on the movie or soundtrack.

Miller went solo in 1971 with the release of the album Bright City but was also involved with the bands Hemlock and Savoy Brown.

1975 saw brief flirtations with Blood Sweat and Tears, Dog Soldier, and a project with Mick Taylor.

In August 1976 Miller joined Marc Bolan's T Rex for the album Dandy In The Underworld before leaving to join Donovan for a tour.

Since the mid-80s, Miller has been part of the Spencer Davis Group, a reunion of veteran musicians, under the name of the historical group. They usually reunite every year under the command of Spencer Davis and Pete York, both original members of the band.

Alongside his involvement with the Spencer Davis Group, Miller has played a number of tours with Deep Purple, singing the Jon Lord material, and also regularly plays with Zoot Money and Maggie Bell. He has also toured with Roger Chapman’s Shortlist.

This year, he’s back on the road with The Miller Anderson Band which comes to Chester next week.
