MANCHESTER legend Noel Gallagher is gearing up for a huge homecoming when he plays the MEN Arena for the first time in five years.
The former Oasis icon returns with his new project Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, who are currently on their debut UK arena tour.
Performing at the MEN for the first time since 2007’s charity concert Versus Cancer, Noel and band will be showcasing tracks from their self-titled debut album alongside a selection of Noel Gallagher classics.
Recorded in LA and London, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds features the hit singles The Death Of You And Me, If I Had A Gun and AKA . . . What A Life!.
Gallagher embarked on a career separate from his brother Liam following the latest in spectacular fall-outs in 2009.
On August 28 a statement from Noel appeared on the band’s website writing that “with some sadness and great relief...I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”
The Manchester show will open the band’s debut UK Arena tour and the band will be joined on stage by a three-piece brass section and the choirs Crouch End Festival Chorus and Hertfordshire Chorus.
Support comes from Sheffield indie rock band Reverend And The Makers.
The show is on Monday, February 13, at 78.30pm. Tickets are priced £35-£59.50, to book call the box office on 0844 847 8000 or visit www.men-arena.com.
