Jolly Tar near Nantwich to host busy week of music

JAZZ outfit The Pepper Town Band, which features several members of the popular Salt City Jazzmen, returns to the Jolly Tar in Wardle tonight (Wednesday).

The band, who always draw a crowd, promise a hugely entertaining jazz-filled slot.

Regular favourites Steve Hayes and Les Hunt return tomorrow.

A venue spokesman said: “Expect some mighty fine guitar work, some great vocals and a little bit of stage banter from these boys. They are definitely a class act.”

On Friday it’s the turn of popular Clubland trio Casino.

They have a fine list of 60s and 70s tracks from bands such as The Kinks, The Shadows and The Drifters.

And Saturday sees the return of newly-formed rock covers act Brazen, featuring ex-Crafty Jack singer CG, former KV 5 guitarist Slim and Brass Monkeys’ Dave Rutter.

They have a varied rock pallet with tracks from Jethro Tull, Foo Fighters and System Of A Down.

All gigs are free and start at 9.30pm. For more details call the pub on 01270 528283 or visit www.jollytarpub.co.uk.
