Deeside College, Connah's Quay

Deeside College principal David Jones

These are exciting times for Deeside College, one of Wales’ leading Further Education colleges. On August 1, 2009, Deeside College and the Welsh College of Horticulture in Northop merged to become one of the largest Further Education establishments in Wales.

The newly formed college is looking to build on the success of Deeside College which in 2007 received two outstanding Estyn inspection reports, and became the first in Wales to achieve the highest possible grade 1 ratings for all aspects of its Further Education and Work Based Learning provision.

Providing a ‘one-stop-shop’ for learners and employers, the college will now provide outstanding training and education to almost 20,000 students each year. Deeside College will continue to deliver a wide range of full and part time vocational courses as well as an extensive offering of A-levels. The college are also looking to develop and expand the provision of land based courses in North Wales.

Deeside College’s main campus is in Connah’s Quay. In recent years, the campus has received extensive investment to ensure learners enjoy the best learning environments and opportunities in Wales.

The college also have an excellent learning facility with internet access and café at the Futures@Holywell centre and provide part time provision at centres across the local communities of Flintshire. Other facilities at the Connah’s Quay campus include those listed below:
