TALENTED youngsters at the Catholic High are celebrating another successful year of GCSE results for the school.
Two students, Nicholas Nilsen and Neil Williams gained 10 A* grades and there were many other very impressive results.
More than 20% of the grades in year 11 were A* or A and more than 60% of all entries were A* to C grades.
As well as seeing some superb individual results at the A* and A grades, the school is celebrating the fact that every student in the year group gained at least one GCSE or equivalent qualification.
Headteacher John Murray said: "The progress made by our students across the board is a great tribute to the hard work of students and staff.
"I am delighted with the individual achievements of our students and the fact that so many are returning to our Sixth Form where they can be prepared successfully for higher education.
"Our most able students have secured excellent grades, and I am delighted for them, but we have also seen some fantastic achievements by students across the whole ability range. For some students their pass grades at GCSE and the ASDAN awards are brilliant achievements."
The two students who scored all A*s were joined by Laura Gidney, Dominic Lusk and Ellie Waite (each with seven A*s and three As), Ruth Cook and Chris Pendleton (both with six A*s and four As), Imogen McNamee (six A*s, one A and three Bs), Sam Arathoon (four A*s, six As and one B), James Pendleton and Chris Szczyglowski (each with four A*s, four As and two Bs), Nina Featherstone (four A*s, four As, one B and one C), Tom Strain (three A*s, five As and two Bs), John Wszolek (three A*s, four As and three Bs), Greg Allister (three A*s, six As and one B), Adam Gough (three A*s, three As and four Bs) and Sorcha Holmes (eight As and two Bs).
Overall results for the school showed 62% of students gaining five or more A*-C grades in all subjects, with 46% gaining this number including both English and Maths.
