Bishops Bluecoat High School, Chester, GCSE results

BISHOPS Bluecoat High School are celebrating a record-breaking number of GCSE passes this year.

The school, in Vaughans Lane, Boughton, is "very pleased" with its continuing excellent GCSE results with 70% of students achieving five or more A*-C grades at GCSE and 94% of students gaining at least 5 A*-G passes, both well above the national average, and 33 students obtained A* grades.

Head teacher Justin Blakeborough said: "Yet again, we are very pleased with the results this year, which are an improvement on last year.

"This is really a tribute to the students’ hard work, many of whom will be staying with us to build on their success at A Level."

Outstanding students include: Beverley Wilson, eight A*s and three As; Hannah Topliffe, six A*s and five As; Fred Wiffen, five A*s and 4 As; Jessica Birt, five A*s and four As; Stephanie French, six A*s and five As; Samantha Poulton, four A*s and six As; Lauren Wilkes, four A*s and seven As; Charlotte Crawford, five A*s and three As; Sebastian Gunther, five A*s and three As; Daniel Allanson, three A*s and six As; Shannon Rowlands, two A*s and seven As; Christina Hill, four A*s and four As.
