Proving they have a way with words, the University of Chester’s Department of Theology and Religious Studies recently achieved a remarkable milestone in the history of its published research.
Four members of the Department each had a book published in the first term of the current academic year.
- Dr Hannah Bacon, Senior Lecturer in Theology, is Deputy Head of the Department. Her book is entitled What's Right with the Trinity? Conversations in Feminist Theology. (Aldershot: Ashgate).
- Professor Tom Greggs, Professor in Christian Theology, edited New Perspectives for Evangelical Theology Engaging with God, Scripture and the World. (Oxford and New York: Routledge).
- Dr Eric Christianson, Senior Lecturer in Hebrew Bible, jointly edited The Lure of the Dark Side: Satan and Western Demonology in Popular Culture with Professor Christopher Partridge, formerly of the University of Chester. (London: Equinox).
- Professor Elaine Graham, Grosvenor Research Professor of Practical Theology, has edited Grace Jantzen: Redeeming the Present. (London: Ashgate).
Professor Robert Warner, the University of Chester’s Head of Theology and Religious Studies, said: “All four are noted for the quality of their research and their work is regularly published, but for our Department to have four books published in one term is particularly noteworthy.
“These are first-rate publications and a tribute to the research excellence of my colleagues. Chester is demonstrating international expertise as a centre for the study of theology and religion in the contemporary world.”
