EPIC Channell swim for West Cheshire College students
ENERGETIC students with a commitment to helping others are planning to swim a distance equivalent to the English Channel – at Ellesmere Port’s EPIC centre.
Ten Public Services students from West Cheshire College are planning to swim in shifts each Friday until the 22 mile target has been reached.
Tutor Lesley Billingsley said: "We want to complete the swim in five weeks so the students are going to have to do 215 lengths each session to make the target.
"It’s quite a challenge but I know they can do it and I’m sure they will enjoy it too."
The students are being sponsored for the swim with all proceeds going to the Mayor’s Charity, which this year is raising funds for the Sea Cadets and organisations for the disabled.
