West Cheshire College health and social care students land top marks

EIGHT high flying health and social care students have all received the top possible grades in their BTEC National Diploma.

All eight received triple distinctions in their final grading, which is equivalent to three A levels at A* grade.

Five of the group are off to university this September to study nursing or childcare care and the other three are taking gap years before starting university courses in September 2010.

Overall the course has had a 100% pass rate, with a further eight students going on to university to study for a variety of degrees including mental health nursing and youth work and one student has been accepted to complete nurse training through the army. All other students have already found jobs in their chosen field.

Tutor Sandra Bebbington said: “These are excellent results and clearly demonstrate that vocational training is a widely recognised and successful route into higher education and careers. We wish all the students luck and success in the future.”
