Rugby union: Try-scoring Ben Foden can't save England from defeat at Twickenham

BEN Foden scored on his first start for England on Saturday but it was not enough to save Martin Johnson’s men from a surprise defeat at Twickenham.

The Barbarians sealed a 33-26 victory at rugby HQ as England’s preparations for the two-Test series with Argentina suffered a blow.

Chester Rugby Club graduate Foden, 23, of Cholmondeley, scored his first England try on the half-hour, muscling over after taking a pass from newcomer Chris Robshaw.

But the Northampton Saints star has been replaced on the right wing for this Saturday’s clash with Argentina at Old Trafford by Mark Cueto.
