Getting on like a house on fire

HELSBY Rugby Club are looking forward to a bright future after tying up a sponsorship deal with Halifax Estate Agents.

Andrew Hayes, equity partner of Halifax’s Frodsham branch, presented a cheque for £1,000 to Helsby’s development officer Stuart Wilkinson and under 7s team manager Jason Chapman.

Mark Horridge, secretary of Helsby’s junior section, said: “We’ve had another very successful season, involving children from five years old to 16. Next season we intend to do the same and with financial help from Halifax Estate Agents, we can look to further improve our pitches and pitch-side shelter to accommodate the ever-increasing numbers.”

Summer training begins on Wednesday, June 25, from 6pm to 7.30pm.
