ALED Evans, the Chester Rugby Club player who missed out on his team’s cup final win at Twickenham, has died.
Evans, a builder and farmer by trade, suffered a fractured skull when he fell 25ft through a barn roof at work on Wednesday, April 9 – forcing him to miss Chester’s EDF Intermediate Cup final victory over Birkenhead Park.
The 29-year-old forward, who had been in a critical condition at the Walton Centre for neurology since the accident, died of his injuries last night (Sunday).
Evans lived in Dolgellau, Gwynedd, and joined Chester earlier this season, helping them win promotion as champions of North Two West.
