A TEENAGER has fired her way to a British title.
Naomi Craig, 14, of Clutton, triumphed at the British Modern Triathlon Championships, held in Solihull.
The modern triathlon is a shortened version of the modern pentathlon, with competitors earning points from three disciplines rather than five – running, swimming and pistol shooting.
Naomi’s win came in the Youth C Girls class and, as a result, she has been invited to attend some talent ID training camps with Pentathlon GB at Hartpury College in Gloucester. She also hopes to be selected to represent Great Britain next year.
The teenager was awarded a modern pentathlon scholarship from Plymouth College and started in Year 10 last September.
She trains in all five modern pentathlon disciplines, which also include fencing and horse riding.
When Naomi is back home in Chester, she trains at Chester Academy which is based at Chester Racecourse.
