WITH the club’s first team not in action, Deeside Ramblers 4ths took their chance to shine on Saturday.
The improving side made it three North West League Division Five South wins on the spin with a 3-1 victory at Oxton 4ths.
Phil Brown, Jack Parker and Pete Cope did the damage.
Ramblers 3rds remain rooted to the bottom of Division Two.
They went down 4-1 at home to title-challenging City of Manchester 2nds, with Ed Lowe reducing the arrears.
In contrast Ramblers 5ths could not have had a better afternoon.
They romped to a 7-1 home success over Oxton 6ths in Division Six South. Nick Worrall (2), John Porter (2), Keith Hindley (2) and Matt Allen shared the strikes.
Ramblers Beavers were also in free-scoring form. They won 7-3 at City of Preston Beavers thanks to five goals from talented Freddie Cheshire and one each from Jamie Maudsley and Ed Fearnell.
The Ramblers National League first team return to Conference North action away to University of Durham on Sunday.
