Motorsport: King’s School chester pupil Seb Morris doubles up at Snetterton to extend Ginetta Juniors championship lead

KING’S School Chester pupil Seb Morris resumed his domination of this year’s Ginetta Juniors Championship by taking a double win at new-look Snetterton.

The 15-year-old notched up his eighth and ninth wins of the season in two closely-fought battles at the revamped Norfolk track on Sunday to extend his lead in the driver’s championship to a massive 120 points.

Hillspeed driver Morris, of Marford, was thrilled at bouncing back from his worst weekend of the season so far at Croft.

He said: “It’s been a really satisfying weekend. Both races were really tough and we had to fight hard but to take two wins on the new track at Snetterton is fantastic.”

Morris was on course for third place in the second race until a last-lap scuffle between the leaders gave him the chance to nab victory.

He said: “I’d pretty much settled for third place in race two but then the opportunity was there to take the lead so I did.

“Croft was a really disappointing weekend in terms of the points score, although I did enjoy the races, so it’s been good to come here, start the second half of the season with two more wins and build the championship lead even further.”

The next two races in the championship take place in Knockhill on September 3-4.
