Rowing: Queen’s Park High School win silver at British Championships

A CREW from the Queen’s Park High School Rowing Club underlined their huge promise with a medal-winning performance at the British Championships in Nottingham.

The J14x4 quad, comprising Chris McCartney, Craig Roberts, Leon Langmead, Alex Thomas and cox Daniel Wallace, won silver at the National Watersports Centre.

The Queen’s Park boat led in their heat and semi-final but despite an enormous effort, they had to settle for a close second in the final behind Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School.

Joel Langmead finished fifth in the J15x1 time trial and was part of the J15x4 quad, also consisting of Struan Fishburn, James McDermott, Ben Archer and cox Rachel Tomkins, which reached the semi-finals.
