Athletics: Hat-trick of county relay wins for West Cheshire AC
WEST CHESHIRE AC and Halton & Frodsham Harriers celebrated a host of victories at the Cheshire Track Relay Championships.
For Wests it was all about the club’s senior runners as they posted a hat-trick of wins at their Stanney Oaks home track.
Aidan Stoakley, Robbie Dagnall, Sam Rimmer and Tom Booth teamed up for a winning time of three minutes and 45.8 seconds in the men’s medley as well as taking the men’s 4x100m title in 44.9secs.
Not to be outdone, Abi Williams, Danielle Erskine, Bryony Potter and Rachel Treloar combined to win the ladies 4x100m in 51.5secs.
Anna Williams, Dakota Chamberlain, Emma Howe and Tess Bowman were second in the under 11s girls 4x100m as were Alice Barnsley, Samhilda McGonigle, Georgia Barlow and Olivia Williams in the U13s girls 4x100m.
Sam Grinter, Alex Earl, Eamonn O’Connell and William Scott finished third in the U11 boys 4x100m with Jac Goodall, Paul Morrison, Ewan Brandon and Morgan Gray making it a podium club double by claiming second spot in the auxiliary final. Grinter, Goodall and Morrison were also part of the 3x600m team that were third.
The West Cheshire U15s boys 4x100m team came second while the trio of Connor Norbury, Zac Holland and Mark Hearn earned silver medals in the 3x800m.
There were second-placed finishes for Jenni Potter, Lucy Earl, Ali Burkett and Emma Johnson in the U17s ladies 4x100m; Olivia Montez-Brown, Kelly Baker, Alice McMahon and Laura Rigby in the U17s ladies medley and Cameron Weaver, Jack Johnson and Chris Harrop in the U13s boys 3x800m.
Halton & Frodsham Harriers, meanwhile, powered to a superb five gold medals and a silver.
Alex Hurst, Grace Wilding and Natasha Treharne won the U11s girls 3x600m (6:35.1mins); Harriet Tomlinson, Olivia Church, Michaela Campbell and Annabel Kitchen the U13s girls 4x100m (56.0secs); Georgia Aston Massey, Molly Whitehead and Kitchen the U13s girls 3x800m (7:50.3mins); Martha Cottrell, Emily Pearson, Jess Wright and Katie Dinsdal the U15s girls 4x100m (53.6secs) and Bradley Phillips, Mark Knight, Sam Cox and Tom Price the U13s boys 4x100m (56.4secs).
