CHESTER Tackle Locker’s Andy Spencer bagged third place in Saturday’s open match at Hampton Springs Fishery.
Spencer, from Christleton, bagged exactly 22lb on the pole with meat after drawing peg seven on Meadow Pool. Top rod, however, was Wrexham’s Martin Churchill with 67lb 2oz.
Hoole’s Wendy Locker led the way in this week’s Thursday Rovers match at Hampton Springs. Drawn on peg 18 of Rock Pool, the Chester Tackle Locker team member bagged 42lb 8oz of carp to win by some margin.
Airbus Coarse Angling Section were in action in the second of the League Matches at Patshull Park, Cosford, on Saturday. Blacon’s Mark Nealing alternated between tip and pole for a winning bag of skimmers, roach and perch weighing 8lb 14oz.
Cheshire Police AC staged their match at Lower Ridge Farm, Saughall, last Thursday. Ellesmere Port’s Mark Greasley was in good form, taking second place in difficult conditions. Making use of a mixture of maggot and caster on the pole, he picked up aide and roach with a total weight of 7lb 12oz to finish behind the overall winner on the day, Brian Woodcock (9lb 12oz).
The heaviest recorded trout landed at Cheshire Fishing, Tattenhall, fell to Great Sutton fly angler Adrian Stanton. He netted an immense 12lb rainbow trout that fell to a white minkie.
