Gymnastics: Neston Gymnastics Club starlets win major medal haul at Hartford Set

NESTON Gymnastics Club were on a roll at a competition in mid-Cheshire.

Under the guidance of coach Janet Speakman, the club returned from the Hartford Sets with a clutch of medals.

Gymnasts aged from seven to 12 took part for Neston, who claimed third place in the team event.

Seven-year-old Lauren Sparks, Neston’s youngest competitor, claimed double gold in the floor and vault, while team-mate Jessica Terry, nine, was first on the floor and third in the vault.

The success story did not stop there, however.

There were also medals for Neston club members Izzy Williamson (3rd on vault), Mia Parker (1st on floor, 2nd on vault), Eve Grant (1st on vault, 2nd on floor), Nicole Watts (1st on floor), Faye Grant (1st on floor, 3rd on vault), Georgia Blundell-Small (1st on floor), Lauryn Boyle (3rd on floor and vault), Cara Harris (2nd on vault), Hannah Wilson (2nd on floor) and Sian McDonald (1st on vault).

The Neston gymnasts were split into various different skill levels, or sets, and went up against a host of other clubs at the competition, which is held twice a year by Hartford School of Gymnastics.
